Did you know that in the Tampa Bay area, there are companies that have a high enough rating that you can change at any time?

Star Ratings

All Medicare Advantage plans are rated by a star rating system.

They range from 1 star (lowest) to 5 stars. (highest)

There are five categories that Medicare Advantage Plans are rated on:

  1. Model of care (keeping their members healthy): these include screenings, tests, and vaccines.

  2. How well they manage chronic conditions, such as diabetes, congestive heart failure, COPD, etc.

  3. How quickly they respond and care for their members.

  4. Member complaints; do their member have problems getting services, and do they choose to leave the plan.

  5. Customer service.

In some areas, such as the Tampa Bay area of Florida. There are plans that rate the maximum which is 5 stars.

When I plan has the highest rating they are allowed to enroll members year round.

What does this mean for you?

This means you could change plans and get into a plan with the highest rating without waiting until the Annual Enrollment Period.
